Happy Retirement Heather
Heather and her husband left South Africa in December 1995, spending 7 years in Singapore and 10 years in the UK.
They immigrated to Australia in 2012, finely settling in Cairns in 2014.
She has 2 daughters, both now living in Australia, and 4 grandchildren.
Over a diverse working career spanning a number of years she’s held various roles, but most enjoyed teaching and training - which as a grandmother, she’s sure she’ll continue doing.
Heather’s role here was her first that involved finance. In her own words, “It has been challenging and educational and has taught me a great deal especially about super which is only in Australia. However, the most important part has been the people I have had the privilege to work with”.
Once she is retired, she’s not slowing down but looking forward to spending more time enjoying reading, walking, yoga, tai chi, Reiki and as a social outlet, Salsa and Latin Cha Cha dancing, as well as spending more time with her family and hopefully a bit of travelling, (only round Queensland for now!).
We thank Heather for her friendly approach and all her great work here over the years, and while we say goodbye to her as an employee, we’ll still be seeing her friendly face at the office in future as one of our wonderful clients.
