10 years, $1m in donations and 3 Generations: 1 Family's Legacy
The Brasch Family private foundation celebrated a decade of helping others by hitting an impressive milestone this year of over $1 million donated to specific charities.
Established in 2013 by Graham and Glenda Brasch with $2 million dollars, their private ancillary fund (PAF) initially involved their adult children and Ian Byrne as Board Members, and now has grown to include adult grandchildren in sub-committee roles.
“Aside from helping those in need in the community, an amazing aspect has been watching the family itself progress and use this as a financial educational tool and instilling family values. Everything from being involved on a Board, discussing corporate finances, making astute decisions based on analysis and merit and even simply better lines of communication have been apparent, as well as helping instil on the younger generations a sense of legacy - the journey of how the wealth was generated, the lessons learned along the way and also the real sense of community and ‘giving back’ when life has been good to you, which is definitely part of Graham and Glenda Brasch’s mindset” said Ian Byrne when making the presentation to their daughter and board Chairperson, Alexie O’Brien.
Aside from the generous donations, the Foundation’s capital has also grown to over $2.7 million, ensuring that the legacy will continue for many years and generations to come.
An impact report is currently being undertaken to assess the number of lives directly assisted from their donations.
